Some cities don’t just leave an impression—they shape you. For me, Manchester is one of those cities. I spent over four unforgettable years living and working in this vibrant, hardworking, and endlessly inspiring place. Even though I don’t live there anymore, its energy, people, and spirit continue to guide me as we build Master Bites UK.

I first arrived in Manchester for my role at MPM International Oil Company. Like many newcomers, I didn’t know much about the city beyond its football fame. But what I found was a place like no other. Manchester is alive with energy. From live music echoing through its streets to its people—resilient, creative, and welcoming—this city has a way of pulling you in. Whether you’re sharing drinks in Deansgate, exploring the indie vibes of the Northern Quarter, or relaxing by the canal in Castlefield, Manchester has something for everyone.

My most unforgettable memory? The aftermath of the Manchester Arena bombing. As tragic as that event was, what followed showed the true spirit of this city. I’ll never forget standing in St Ann’s Square, surrounded by flowers, quiet conversations, and the unshakable resilience of Mancunians. That moment taught me what Manchester is all about: unity, strength, and a determination to move forward together. That same spirit inspires everything we do at Master Bites UK. No matter the challenges we face—be it Brexit logistics or starting a business in a new market—we’re committed to finding a way forward.

One of the things that kept me in Manchester for over four years was its incredible hospitality scene. From rooftop bars like 20 Stories to cosy neighbourhood pubs, the diversity here is unmatched. Some of my favourite spots include Albert Schloss, Mackie Mayor, and The Pen & Pencil—but honestly, I could name dozens more. When Rob came to visit, I wanted him to experience it all. We spent days exploring the city, hopping from bar to bar—him with his pint and me with my Hendrick’s and tonic. Like me, he fell in love with the energy, the people, and the sheer variety Manchester has to offer. But as we enjoyed the city’s hospitality, we noticed something was missing. There was no great snack to accompany our drinks. Sure, there were wings, onion rings, and nachos, but nothing truly special. That’s when we realised: Manchester deserved its own snack.

At Master Bites UK, we’ve created a line-up of snacks that reflect the city’s diversity and bold spirit. From the Lancashire Veal Bite to the Lincolnshire Green Bite, every option offers something unique—whether you’re looking for halal, vegan, vegetarian, or just something hearty to pair with your drink.
